Draw Games

A "Draw Game" in poker is a type of poker game where players have the opportunity to discard some or all of their cards and replace them with new ones from the deck in an attempt to improve their hand.

2-7 Triple Draw

Objective

Make the worst possible five-card hand, with 7-5-4-3-2 being the best.

How to Play

Players are dealt five cards and try to make the worst hand.

There are three drawing rounds where players can discard cards and draw new ones.

There is also 4 betting rounds. 1st betting round on the initial deal. 2nd betting round after the first draw. 3rd betting round after the 2nd draw.

And the 4th drawing around after the 3rd draw. Straights, flushes, and pairs are bad. Aces are only counted as high in all 2/7 games.

Example 1: 76543 is not a 7 low. It is a straight.

Example 2: A5432 is not a straight, it is a Ace low, because Aces only count as high in this game.

A-5 Triple Draw

Objective

Make the lowest possible five-card hand, with A-2-3-4-5 being the best.

How to Play

Players get three drawing rounds to make the best low hand.

There are three drawing rounds where players can discard cards and draw new ones.

There is also 4 betting rounds. 1st betting round on the initial deal. 2nd betting round after the first draw. 3rd betting round after the 2nd draw. And the 4th drawing around after the 3rd draw.

Straights and flushes do not count against you. Aces only count as low in A-5 games.

Example 1: 76543 is a 7 low

Example 2: As3s4s5s6s is a 6 low

Badugi

Objective

Make the lowest possible four-card hand with each card being a different suit and rank.

How to Play

Players are dealt four cards, and the goal is to make a “Badugi,” which is a hand with four unsuited, unpaired low cards.

There are three drawing rounds, with betting action after each draw. The best Badugi hand is A-2-3-4 of all different suits.

Baduecy

Objective

Make the best five-card hand for both Badugi (four-card) and 2-7 Triple Draw (five-card).

How to Play

A hybrid of Badugi and 2-7 Triple Draw.

There is 3 drawing rounds in this game.

Players make a five-card hand and score based on both Badugi and 2-7 lowball rules. Half the pot goes to the best Badugi hand, and the other half goes to the best 2-7 low hand.

Note: in Baduecy, the best possible badugi is 2-3-4-5 of different suits, reason because Aces are high only in 2-7 variants.

Best possible Baduecy hand is 2-3-4-5-7 low with a 2-3-4-5 badugi

Badacey

Objective

Make the best five-card hand for both Badugi and A-5 Triple Draw.

Objective

Make the worst possible five-card hand, with 7-5-4-3-2 being the best.

How to Play

Players are dealt five cards and have one chance to draw new cards.

There are 2 betting rounds in this game. 1st betting round is on the initial deal. 2nd betting round is after the draw is completed.

The goal is to make the worst hand, and no-limit betting is allowed.

Dramaha High

Objective

How to Play

Players are dealt five hole cards, and five community cards are dealt face up.

The game is divided into two halves:

  • Omaha High: Players must use exactly two hole cards and three community cards to form the best five-card hand.
