Dec 17, 2025
Today we’re sitting down with Zach B., aka DonkeyOnTilt — a Minnesota-based mixed-game grinder with a long history in limit poker and a love for fast action and precise hand reading. From Badeucy battles to WSOP memories, here’s a closer look at the player behind the screen name.
Zach “DonkeyOnTilt” B.
Name: Zach B.
Screen name: DonkeyOnTilt
What do you specialize in: LHE is my best game, but I only play mixed games now.
Occupation: Corrections.
City residing in: Minnesota
Tell us about your Family: Wife and son.
Pets: The best dog ever to live and too many cats.
How long have you been playing poker: Since 2005 but the first time I ever played, I was 9 and it was 5 card draw with my buddy’s older brother and he took all my allowance.
What drew you to poker: The feel of putting someone on an exact hand is the ultimate dopamine hit for me.
Favorite poker game: Badeucy without question.
Favorite starting hand: 7c5d4h3c2s.
Live or online: I enjoy aspects of both. Live is a hell of a lot easier!!
Favorite poker room: My home room is Canterbury Park, but as much as I hate to admit it, it has to be second to the Wynn.
Poker Pro you admire most: Probably Nick Schulman. So cool, calm, and collected, and a true legend of the game.
Biggest poker win: My favorite was probably winning one of the Sunday Supernova freerolls. 6800+ runners and a nice first place prize. That was an extremely memorable moment.
Best poker experience: Probably my first WSOP event. It was the $1500 Omaha 8 or better. I had some real crushers at my table including Alex Livingston. He was such a funny, affable character. I enjoyed myself immensely.
Poker pet peeve: People who play slow. I’ve always played limit variants for the speed aspect and when someone tanks longer than 30 seconds my skin begins to crawl.
If you could sit down with any 5 people to play poker with, who would you pick: Nick Schulman, Dan Zack, Alex Livingston, Benny Glaser, and my best friend Mark.
Phenom Nemesis (all in fun): xm_ has been making 6 badugis against me lately at an alarming rate!
What brought you to Phenom: I had seen some stuff about it on Brian Rast’s twitter but what really brought me in was watching @learnmixgames streams for a while. It seemed like a legit site from what I was watching and I wanted to get in on the action!
Hobbies outside of poker: I love going to the gym. I go every day.
Favorite sports teams: Minnesota sports fandom is torture.
Favorite types of music and bands to listen to: I like to listen metal. My favorite band is Opeth.
Favorite TV show: Cliché, but Breaking Bad.
Favorite meal: Chicken adobo.
What are you usually doing when playing online: Listening to music!
Any final words: Phenom is the best online experience I’ve ever had. It isn’t as easy to win as pre-Black Friday PokerStars, but the player experience is absolutely unmatched. You truly feel like the site is run by poker players with the intention of making it player-first. I’ve enjoyed my 1,000+ hours of playing on the site and I look forward to new innovations and continued growth and success.
